The start of the Financial Aid Calendar is January 1st of the student’s JUNIOR YEAR
of High School. This is the tax return that Financial Aid will be looking at.
If adjustments need to be made, we need to make those adjustments before the
Financial Aid clock begins to tick.
IF NOT A SENIOR:

Visit schools, take SAT’s and /or ACT’s. |
IF A SENIOR: |
Complete all apps. by October 31st, or
ASAP. Deadlines, Deadlines, Deadlines! |
OCTOBER: |
Applications and essays into Guidance.
Letters of recommendation, transcripts.

JANUARY: |
Financial Aid forms filed for each school by each school’s deadline. (FAFSA, CSS,
Institutional). You will be swamped with forms & more forms.

MARCH: |
EFC received. We’ll already know the amount.
This will just confirm we are correct.
|
APRIL: |
Regular decision schools decide whether
student is accepted or not. 2-3 weeks later letter
to parents detailing what the financial aid awards are for each school.
|
APRIL/MAY: |
Appeals. This is the time we can go to a
school and ask for a stronger aid package.
|
MAY 1st: |
$100-$500 non-refundable deposit to the
school of choice. Holds dorm room and
class space.
|
AUG-SEPT: |
Off to College!! |
